Consistent with that purpose, the Securities Division seeks to ensure a free and competitive securities market in North Carolina and increase investor confidence in the securities industry through education outreach, compliance and enforcement actions.
The Securities Division is seeking an _*Attorney III*_ to advise and litigate cases within our Enforcement Section.
The position requires an experienced attorney to investigate and enforce the North Carolina Securities Act (N.
C.
G.
S.
Chapter 78A), the North Carolina Investment Advisers Act, including the Uniform Athlete Agents Act (N.
C.
G.
S.
Chapter 78C), and the North Carolina Commodities Act (N.
C.
G.
S.
Chapter 78D).
This attorney works with significant independence and must be able to conduct, manage and/or guide securities and other financial fraud investigations.
The major functions of this position involve administrative hearings, criminal prosecution, trial litigation, pre-trial and trial responsibilities, as well as administrative rule-making duties.
This attorney may act as a liaison on securities administrative issues with other state regulators, attorneys, and industry leaders.
This attorney may supervise the daily work of financial investigators, paralegals or other administrative staff members.

* This position may require occasional in-state and out-of-state travel for court appearances, training, seminars or conferences.
* No salary will be offered above the recruitment range: $84,878.

Salary determination is based upon the candidate’s education and experience related to the position, as well as departmental budget and equity considerations.
* This position may be eligible for an alternate worksite arrangement in accordance with the Secretary of State’s Teleworking Policy, but must permanently reside within 50 miles from the Securities Division office in Raleigh, North Carolina.
