\*\*\*Resume and Cover Letter Required\*\*\* *Administrative Assistant, Attorney Client Assistance Program* NORTH CAROLINA STATE BAR The North Carolina State Bar was created in 1933 by the North Carolina General Assembly as the government agency responsible for the regulation of the legal profession in North Carolina.
The State Bar currently regulates over 30,000 licensed lawyers.
Protection of the public and protection of our system of justice are the objectives of regulation.
*JOB DESCRIPTION* *Essential Job Responsibilities:* · Open incoming mail, date-stamp, enter into tracking database and distribute appropriately · Open files, prepare labels, enter into a file management database and track responses · Assist in generating reports when needed · Prepare labels, mail grievance and fee dispute complaint form packets · Respond to written and electronic communications · Direct callers to appropriate staff · Provide information to callers on State Bar programs, including various forms and brochures · Open, process and maintain files and forward appropriate documentation to facilitators · Assist Public Liaisons in communicating with attorneys and clients, when needed · Provide backup to other members of ACAP Department · Filing/scanning *Non-Essential Job Responsibilities:* · Serve as back up to perform duties of other employees when needed to include reception · Perform any other task assigned *Accountability and Authority:* The Administrative Assistant reports to and is directly supervised by the director of ACAP.
*Desired education, experience and skills:* · Minimum of a high school diploma, with prior experience in legal field preferred · Familiarity with legal terminology and court system preferred · Excellent oral and written communication skills required · Good computer skills (including knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel) and the ability to learn content management software systems · Spanish fluency preferred but not required *Working Conditions:* · Position is non-exempt in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act · Hours: 9:00 a.
