KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, Personnel Security and Insider Risk to join our Enterprise Security Services organization.
This is a remote work opportunity.
Responsibilities: Apply advanced knowledge of security and investigations to review the results of prospective client due diligence investigations for adverse or derogatory information which might expose the firm to legal, regulatory and/or reputational risk; partner with engagement teams and risk management to resolve issues Review adverse background investigation results for new hires, contingent workers, campus hires, interns, and Americas direct entry partners (DEP) and partner promotion candidates; work with Office of General Council (OGC), Ethics and Compliance, and Human Resources (HR) to resolve outstanding issues of employee and partner misconduct involving policy violations, inappropriate conduct and criminal activity; gather evidence, conduct interviews, review documents, and prepare investigative reports Confer with federal, state and local government officials on individual matters as necessary Offer case by case oversight of contracted resources responsible for overseeing the administration of the prospective client due diligence and employee background check process Provide active coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing with junior staff to advance their career development; manage and review those team members’ work product; contribute to planning for short term needs, such as projects and processes; may construct annual plan for deployment of those resources May have people management responsibility for a small to mid-sized team of entry level through intermediate level professionals Qualifications: Minimum eight years of recent experience handling internal investigations and/or complex litigation matters in a law firm, large corporate environment, or government entity Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated thought leadership and strategic thinking in sensitive and complex situations, and possess the highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility, and character Extensive investigatory experience and ability to expeditiously identify and analyze issues and provide legally sound recommendations Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; must be able to set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team; ability to foster the development of high-performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization; capability to participate in development of resource plans and structures and influence organizational priorities KPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
