POSITION SUMMARY Support the company’s mission and goals to drive operational efficiency and accuracy as it relates to loan documentation and core system administration, including commercial, consumer, and SBA loans.
Follows specific guidelines and procedures to ensure loan files are complete.
Updates and maintains customer loan data on the Bank’s operating system.
Assists internal staff and external customers with inquiries concerning their loan products and presents loan-related information, generally by telephone, email and in person in a professional and expedient manner.
Works with Compliance to make sure the bank is adhering with loan compliance procedures.
Completes miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed in Loan Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and BASIC DUTIES Onboarding of all types of new loans, renewals and modifications into the core system by entering loan data and verifying the accuracy of the data.
Prepares consumer loan documentation and closes consumer loans, including early disclosures and loan funding.
Reviews loan activity daily reports to ensure no errors in processing payments and maintenance requests.
Complete loan onboard and loan documentation reviews.
Processes loan maintenance requested by the internal bank staff, ensuring the proper approvals for the request have been obtained.
Performs routine internal loan verification activities assigned by the Loan Operations Manager to ensure documentation is complete and current (i.
e.
, collateral values, interest adjustments, the return of required forms, etc.
).
Scan, review and upload loan documentation to core storage system.
Set and clear loan exception items for missing documentation.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of the loan operating systems and ensures data input into the system is accurate and timely.
Has responsibility for following regulatory requirements pertaining to lending and loan operations (CRA, Regulation M, AA, B, C, Z, the FACT Act, SBA SOPs, etc.
) Perform loan advances and prepares loan proceeds checks and wires.
Process daily loan payments received via U.
S.
Mail as required.
Cross-trains in other areas of the department in the absence of other Loan Operations personnel.
Contributes to teamwork by assisting and supporting other Bank staff as needed.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Additional banking courses through a banking school would be helpful.
An Associate Degree is preferred.
Must have a working knowledge of fair lending regulations, Dodd-Frank, HUD HOEPA, RESPA, TRID and other state and federal lending laws and regulatory guidelines.
Knowledge of loan administration guidelines is essential.
Knowledge of required loan documentation, including commercial and consumer regulations, collateral requirements, Deeds of Trust and UCC’s is essential.
Must have knowledge of insurance requirements for loans.
Working knowledge of Microsoft ® Office Suite, core processing and ancillary software applications is required.
Knowledgeable in Jack Henry Silverlake Core Processing and LaserPro applications is preferred.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES Adheres specifically to all Bank policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
Has responsibility for following regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements: Experience Requirements: A minimum of four-years’ experience in the loan administration area of a full-service financial institution or loan production office.
Must have experience reviewing loan documentation and following standard procedure and guidelines related to consumer and commercial loan types.
Customer relations experience would be helpful in assisting clients with any questions, concerns or issues they may have in a timely and profession manner.
Proficiency with calculator, PC and lending-related software is essential.
Must have excellent communications skills to assist Loan Officers and bank staff, attorneys and customers with the compilation of information for loan files.
Must be detail-oriented and can organize tasks and set priorities.
Ability to read and understand loan approvals and documentation and following standard operating procedures Must be flexible with the ability to multi-task.
Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and various financial-related software is preferred.
Ability to learn new technology quickly and understand software logic in order to move through assigned daily tasks.
Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements: Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, and bend.
Must have the ability to work the days and hours required to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
