" Purpose Chiesi is hiring a Managing Counsel, Legal Affairs, to join a growing legal department responsible for managing legal and regulatory matters across the company’s business units and functional teams in both the United States, Canada and LATAM.
This role will provide advice and counsel to the business on key areas of law, including FDA regulations, fraud and abuse laws and other healthcare laws and compliance obligations.
This role will contribute to integral aspects of the commercial strategy for mature and recently launched biopharmaceuticals, collaborating with roles across the global organization.
This role will provide the opportunity to be seen as a trusted advisor to the business by making logical, well-reasoned and timely decisions that appropriately balance the relevant legal and business considerations.
Main Responsibilities • Advise and counsel company on all types of legal and regulatory risks impacting the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries, including FDA regulations and submissions, fraud and abuse laws and regulations and other healthcare laws and compliance obligations.
• Serve on the company’s Promotional Review Board and provide guidance on FDA promotional labeling requirements, including review of marketing and advertising materials, company presentations, and press releases.
• Works with global counterparts to create and execute legal and compliance support for the company.
• Work with outside counsel and internal legal team on a regular basis to manage and review large volume of contracts, litigation and other specialized matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate strategic and complex contracts for the company.
• Assist with due diligence, negotiation and integration of mergers, acquisitions, licenses and other transactional structures.
• Stay abreast of relevant legal considerations and developing industry trends.
• Participate in the development and management of the legal department budget and other aspects of legal department management.
Experience Required Preference for at least 5 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Significant experience representing life sciences and/or pharmaceutical companies.
Strong legal and business judgment, and proven ability to collaborate across functions and geography, with a skill for engaging colleagues at all levels in projects and processes.
Strong organization, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple products simultaneously.
Demonstrated self-awareness and professional maturity, and ability to articulate legal issues and considerations to effectively provide advice to business clients Education Law degree and admission to the bar of at least one state.
