Job Description
Veolia Water Technologies, Inc.
(VWT) is a global industry leader in providing water and wastewater solutions to industrial and municipal customers.
One attorney is located in the Cary Office and three additional attorneys are located elsewhere, thus, the successful Paralegal will need to be able to work efficiently via remote supervision from other attorneys.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
⦁ Arrange Trips and Expense Reports
⦁ Annual Reports and Business Licenses
⦁ DBA Filings
⦁ Renewing and Maintaining Corporate Engineering/Contractors Licenses
⦁ Organize occasional live Legal meetings
⦁ Obtain Certificate in Record Keeping
⦁ Assist in discovery (gathering emails, etc.
) /conflicts checks
⦁ Assist with IP renewals
⦁ Obtain and/or conduct state law surveys
⦁ Review Employee off-boarding notice vs.
litigation hold?
⦁ Check payment status of outside counsel's and expert's invoices?
⦁ Organize and maintain corporate policies, administer various legal databases and assist the attorneys in both Google and Microsoft applications
⦁ Perform legal research such as gathering and analyzing case decisions and legal articles, laws, rules and statutes, and other data as requested.
⦁ Review, track and monitor legislation that impacts the company’s products and/or processes.
Qualifications
Qualification & Skills Required:
⦁ Certificate of completion (or a demonstration that one is imminently obtainable) from an approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an Associate degree in paralegal studies.
⦁ Strong oral and written communication skills.
⦁ Must be able to effectively manage time sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
⦁ Computer skills and working knowledge of Google and Microsoft applications is absolutely required, and office administration experience is preferred.
