The Finance Compliance and Training Manager plays an instrumental role within the Finance and Research Support Team (FiRST), a dynamic financial shared services organization catering to multiple departments across the School of Medicine managing over $832 million.
This pivotal position is entrusted with ensuring rigorous compliance, managing audit processes, orchestrating comprehensive training programs, and providing strategic triage support to optimize financial operations.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of financial regulations fortifying the department’s compliance posture and operational efficiency, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to develop, implement, and oversee robust compliance and training programs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements First time manager with Masters and 5+ years of relevant experience; or Bachelors with at least 1-2 yrs supervisory experience and 5+ years of relevant experience Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Advanced ability to monitor and manage financial accounts for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and laws.
Advanced ability to manage reporting of complex financial areas or programs, including preparation of financial statements and reports.
Ability to develop complex formulas for spreadsheets.
Must be able to train, assign, supervise, review the work of others, and be able to perform/supervise several administrative and financial functions.
Must be able to communicate with all levels of management and provide consultation, expertise, and recommend solutions.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Thorough knowledge of government accounting methods, procedures, and accounting practices.
Experience in a university and/or medical setting is preferred.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
