Smith Anderson seeks a highly qualified intellectual property associate with one to three years post-JD experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience in matters relating to trademark, trade dress, copyright and design patents, including IP product design clearance, trademark prosecution, and some IP enforcement as well as due diligence and landscape analysis; experience with IP licensing and technology agreements is a plus but not required for this role.
Admission to the Patent Bar is also a plus.
Candidates must have excellent academic credentials and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills and a desire for teamwork, significant responsibility, and client interaction.

Smith Anderson's Technology Transactions & Intellectual Property Team offers a broad platform and includes technology transactions, litigation, asset management, and strategic IP advice.
We counsel clients on IP portfolio development, product development and commercialization, copyrights and trademarks, and issues relating to data use, privacy, and cybersecurity.
Our IP lawyers also work with our Litigation Practice Group, including in arbitration and agency proceedings such as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
The transactional side of our team leads mission-critical complex collaboration and development transactions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, IP licensing, technology transfer and similar matters.
Our firm’s IP lawyers work with a broad array of national and international corporate clients from startups to multinational companies.
Our clients operate in diverse industry sectors, including retail, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, agricultural technology, software, finance, and education.
