The Judges Education Compliance Manager provides support across all areas of AKC Sports & Events for the efficient monitoring of continuing education requirements for AKC-approved judges.
Will manage the administration and implementation of key established continuing education requirements for AKC-approved judges, including but not limited to Abuse Prevention Training for all judges and Recertification for Conformation Judges.
The Judges' Education Compliance Manager will work collaboratively with the individual Sports & Events Departments to facilitate the delivery and recording of required continuing education for judges to maintain their status.
Responsible for key operational details and all administrative aspects.
Primary Job Duties
Manages the administration of AKC's Education Requirement Policy for all judges.
Manages the administration of AKC's Recertification Requirement for Conformation Judges and provides support and/or manages the administration of continuing education requirements for judges for Companion and Performance events.
Ensure timely notice to judges of requirements to complete mandatory education to maintain status.
Ensure accurate recording of all completion data for AKC's Education Requirement Policy, Recertification for Conformation Judges, and, as applicable, continuing education requirements for judges for Companion and Performance events in CMS (Competition Maintenance System).
Liaison with IT to ensure all facets of recorded completion data function properly.
Manage all updates and maintenance to AKC website for content related to Judges Education Compliance requirements.
Respond to all inquiries by telephone, email or letter regarding completing continuing education requirements for judges.
Liaison with AKC's Education Department concerning continuing education materials hosted in AKC’s distant learning platform, AKC Canine College.
Assist in researching & compiling statistical reports related to completion data for continuing education requirements by sport.
Revise and update judges’ records in CMS (Competition Maintenance System) and AKC’s Website.
Provide support as needed to all Sports & Events Departments on judges' education materials.
Required Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Competency Requirements
Must possess strong PC skills and above-average skills in office software including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, and Outlook.
Minor skills with Access Database.
Organizational skills necessary to successfully manage AKC program deliverables, transactions, and reporting.
Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision and excellent attention to detail.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize workloads with critical deadlines.
Familiar with AKC's CMS (Competition Management System) is a plus.
