The Purpose of this position is to oversee the licensing of adult care homes, family care homes and overnight respite services for ACLS in accordance with statutes (G.

This position is responsible for making sure facility inspection reports are filed per ACLS policy and posted on ACLS website timely.
The position directly supervises, trains and provides performance management for a team of four (4) Administrative Specialists I in the Raleigh office.
This administrative licensing team is responsible for processing facility licensure applications (changes, initials and renewals).
The position ensures the licensing team provides the highest level of customer service by responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in person from the public, providers and other State Agencies timely and courteously.
The position ensures the Section mail is processed timely and accurately, checks are processed and secured per the Department Cash Matrix Management policy and files and databases are organized and managed in accordance with the Section’s policies and other mandates.
The job duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Developing and implementing policies and procedures to carry out the programs; Performing quality assurance and program evaluation; Responding to provider and public inquiries about the programs; Responsible for ordering supplies, coordinating with Information Systems to order equipment for the Section; Troubleshooting issues with office equipment, space, or other needs.
Gathers and disseminates information for public record requests Generates reports as needed by the Section Chief or other Section managers.
This position is in Adult Care Licensure Section which is located on the beautiful Dix Park just outside of downtown Raleigh.

About the Division of Health Service Regulation and the Adult Care Licensure Section The Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR) provides for the health, safety and well-being of individuals through effective regulatory and remedial activities including appropriate consultation and training opportunities and by improving access to health care delivery systems through the rational allocation of needed facilities and services.
The Adult Care Licensure Section assures that the mandated standards of care are provided for the health, safety, and well-being of North Carolina’s citizens receiving services in adult care homes.
The primary function of this Section is to license, regulate and provide technical assistance to adult care homes enhanced by the development of appropriate rules and provision of training and consultation to homes and county Department of Social Services staff.

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following: Experience supervising and directing the work of others, including performance management, conflict resolution, decision making, and/or coaching.

Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement policy and procedural guidelines.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing; viewing a computer; extensive reading.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience, including one year as a lead worker; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
