Description of Work
The Rehabilitation Services section is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring correctional interventions for offenders in facilities.
The goals of the section include promoting public safety, improving offender behavior, and reducing re-offending by promoting successful reentry back into the community.
Utilizing evidence-based practices as the foundation of all programs and services, offenders are prepared with the necessary skills and tools to live as productive members of the community.
The section focuses on a full continuum starting with research and decision support analysis, delivering evidence-based offender programs and services in the major areas of substance abuse, cognitive behavioral programs, educational attainment, and vocational training, through the process of reentry and transition (pre- and post-release) planning.
This Chaplaincy Services Administrative Specialist position provides support to and under the direct supervision of the Chaplaincy Services Director.
The position is required to maintain confidentiality in personnel matters and other sensitive issues required by the Chaplaincy Services Director.
This position maintains records, files and reports generated by the Chaplaincy Services Director and other staff in the section.
The position is required to compose correspondence, coordinate office responses to incoming correspondence, gather information, generate monthly reports, complete, and submit online forms, create, and maintain databases, send, and receive emails, make, and receive telephone calls on Chaplaincy Services matters that involve facility concerns, Wardens, Chaplains, staff, offenders, family members, lawyers, and the community.
This position is required to be knowledgeable of Division and Agency leadership and coordinate information with them as directed.
All activities and processes are done by this position with a background or learned knowledge of Chaplaincy Services, the Division, and the Department of Adult Corrections.
These activities require this position to be highly organized, knowledgeable of a variety of issues and activities and to be able to adapt immediately to changes and deadlines.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Verifying data, report writing, summarizing and reconciling information or financial data Claims review and processing Data collection, analysis and research Records and Inventory management Inventory management, fund collection and expenditure Receive, Send and distribute mail This position will require statewide travel and some overnight stays, as well as entering and exiting correctional facilities.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.

About the Division The Division of Rehabilitation and Reentry oversees efforts across the DAC to provide high-quality, evidence-based programs and diverse services to incarcerated individuals as well as those on community supervision.
Comprised of three major sections, Rehabilitation Services, Reentry Services, and Social Work Services, the Division supports DAC staff statewide in the administration of programs and services, technical support, training, and operation guidance, program development and implementation, program evaluation, and more.
