The North Carolina Department of Revenue is looking to fill an Assistant Director position in the Corporate Tax Division.
The primary purpose of the Corporate Tax Division is to support the mission and vision of the Department of Revenue by administering the corporate income, franchise, and gross premiums taxes in an equitable and efficient manner.
The Division also educates taxpayers, representatives, and other stakeholders about relevant laws, and provides technical direction in the formulation of administrative tax policy and procedures, including providing assistance in resolution of complex tax issues.
The Division also plans and develops strategies for implementing changes in legislation, offers suggestions to amend existing tax law, critiques pending legislation, represents the Department at legislative committees upon request, and attends various association functions, such as SEATA, FTA and MTC, on behalf of the Department.
Currently we are hiring for an Assistant Director.
The Assistant Director works in partnership with the Director in leading the Division in the administration of all corporate tax schedules.
The Assistant Director stands in place of the Director when delegated or when the Director is unavailable, being accountable and responsible for the operation and functions of the Division in the absence of the Director.
The Assistant Director may appear before the appropriate legislative committees to respond to questions about bills introduced in the General Assembly and their various impacts on the Department or the State.
The Assistant Director also leads and supervises the Administration Officers in the Corporate Income Tax Division.

Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration, Economics, Accounting or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in tax accounting and auditing work including two years of advanced auditing or supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
